Much better than former screen mesh type – I used to have screen mesh type, and did not know they had this kind which is MUCH better, as the screen mesh type after a little use pops out with prong of one or two wire mesh so finger gets stuck when lifting out of drain hole, this never will as it’s made more solid. The only thing I can say is since there’s more metal area than holes, it’s a little slower draining liquid out. It is allot easier to clean, and still catches hair easily.

Works as it should – I was planning on leaving it in the drain but I can’t. The sink drains very slowly when they are in, which is frustrating, so not for everyday use. I do put them in when there is a chance of something going down the drain that shouldn’t like hair or jewelry. It works great for piece of mind and stopping clogs. (Hint: If you lift the rim as soon as the water starts and then drop it in the drain it breaks the suction and then it does drain a little faster.)

Everyone should have this – This strainer literally catches everything, which is great, its just nasty when I have to clean it out but it comes clean easy. Great little strainer – Several years ago we replaced our bathroom faucet. The old one had a sink stopper built in, but the new one didn’t. The drain is now just a black hole, and I was always afraid I’d drop an earring down it, or one of the grandkids would lose a toothpaste cap or something in it. This little strainer fits PERFECTLY, looks GREAT (shiny!), and doesn’t impede the water going down the drain. It catches hair, and is easy to just wipe out with a tissue. Now I don’t have to worry about things going down that black hole and having to do some real plumbing work to get them out!
