Looks great, easy to install, but has some minor flaws – These hinges were easy to install/replace existing ones. The black matte finish is exactly what I was looking for. The only negative I found was that a number of the doors I replaced these on now make more noise than before. I have tried WD40 but still no fix. It sounds like the top hinge of the 3 is pulling the wood, either on the doorframe or the door itself. I have yet to investigate further. Overall, they met my expectation.

Amazon Basics To The Rescue – I’m an Amazon addict. I don’t want to run from store to store searching for something while burning $4.36 in premium gas to realize I could get it at Amazon in 2 days. I remember the days of instant gratification. Like same day if I ran to the store. I remember Amazon prime and thinking I ha e to wait 2 days. Naaaah. But we are wired to think 2 days is great. Near top quality for less money – Schlage was my go to hinge but after Schlage significantly cheapened their hinge quality in 2021, I searched out a replacement comparing six different brands.

Nice and subtle upgrade for doors – I absolutely love these. They were easy to install and go great with my Dark Academia aesthetic. I paired them with some Schlage matte black knobs and the look is top notch. They’d really complement any mixed metal or design style. One thing to note is that there were some gaps around where they were slightly more rounded on the corners than the origional hinges. Not a make or break issue, especially since I plan on touch up painting and likely filling the gaps, but if it’s the tiny details that eat at you, that’s definitely something to incorporate a solution to as you plan out your project. Time will tell with sturdiness, if things go sideways I’ll update this.

Excellent product – Purchased these to replace 35 yr old Stanley antique brass hinges. Product was was well packaged and individually wrapped. No scratches or imperfections. The screws were the same size as the old ones and the count was exactly right. I did not have to redrill or adjust any screw holes in the 18 hinges I installed. One caution: if the door will not close completely, you probably have the new hinge backwards. I replaced one hinge at a time starting at the top. Then the bottom and lastly the middle. I installed the new hinge in the door first and then on the door jamb. This way I could pull on the door with one hand to align the screws on the opposite hinge and work the screw driver with the other hand.

Kids never close doors, but now the doors close behind them. – These hinges work great, they are easy to install, and you can set the tention for the weight of the door. You may have some issues with lighter doors closing into a latch position. But any standard fire rated door or exterior door will have no issues.
