Works Great, but Poor Quality Switch – The light works very well. But over a short period of time the switch becomes erratic. Very poor quality contacts, and the light will suddenly dim and you will have to turn it off and on again or bang the flashlight to make a better contact. It’s too bad they didn’t spend a little more and use a high quality switch, that would make it a better ultra-violet flashlight. At first I thought I had just bought a bad one out of the batch, but later on I bought two or three more of these flashlights, and they all exhibited the same very poor performance from the switch. Can be extremely annoying to have the switch malfunction continually.

Ready for Hotel rooms and crime scenes – I’m initially really pumped about being able to find scorpions , spiders, and body fluids.

We use this to find tomato worms at night – Black light causes tomato worms to glow. It’s the easiest way to find them. We have two of these flashlights, and they are great. They are light enough to be able to hold them for the half hour it takes to get through all our 80 or more tomato plants. They are bright, and we didn’t have to replace the batteries all summer. Good product.

Seems to be a quality product – I find it amusing that these surveys ask about durability and battery life within a week of ownership. Duh. As the Great Lebowski said “Well dude, we just don’t know.”

helpful to see pet stain on stain resistant carpet – We have a warm beige Smart Strand carpet upstairs that is about 10 years old and was cleaned 4 yrs ago. The upstairs was smelling more stale and faintly like urine. I suspected one of our dogs or a visiting dog had peed but never saw any stains since it’s stain resistant. The UV flashlight amazingly revealed many old stains in both bedrooms which we then worked on over a period of days with the Furry Freshness product and a carpet cleaning machine. Now we always keep doors closed and can use the UV flashlight to recheck anytime I forget, in case they run up there, AND it smells fresh and clean.
