      Check existing filter measurements. – First of all, my filter arrived a year ago & was pretty beat up but this late in fall I figured I’d live with it. Second, 20 x 25 x 5 is a very general term for furnace filters. This filter had the generic 20x25x5 posted but the actual height is 4.69″ inches which won’t fit my furnace’s clearance of 4.38.” Given it was purchased a year ago there’s no return or refund available. Was bought it on sale via an email reminder. It was cheaper than the filters I usually buy thru Amazon & I took the bait.

      Wrong size – Need to return this. It doesn’t fit my furnace. I know the time is up (30 days), but I was taking care of my son (colon cancer), and didn’t try it until It was passed the 30 days. I’m 84 years old on a fixed income. I ordered the correct size and am thankful this one fits. Have a blessed day.

      This large, strong air filter works extremely well for heating & air conditioning my large house. – The initial different filter brand on my house furnace did not work well. It caused my house to get some small particles blown out from my furnace everywhere, and it also caused my furnace to get clogged and slightly damaged. After I removed that initial bad filter and switched to this wonderful Filtrete filter, the air that is blown into my house is always totally clean, and my furnace never gets clogged which keeps it running very nicely for very many years.

      Check the fine print – The filter seems fine but looking at the picture I was expecting 2. It is not a good price for 1. You can just as good price at Menards. I installed it as I have it but will not be ordering again.

      Didn’t Easily Fit Filter Housing – Got this to replace a Honeywell filter I had in the system of the same dimensions. Received and went to install and it was slightly too big in every dimension to fit well. I ended up having to remove the foam on the edges and crushing the filter a bit just to make it work. I don’t believe that it reduced the effectiveness of the filter, but it definitely was not a simple plug and play in place of the old filter.

The free maintenance contracts were end this year so I decided to replace the filters myself. The filter size from the unit show 16x25x5 and I trust 3M brand so I bought 2.
