Stop reading bad reviews! – First off you I wanna talk about how easy this was and how much it’s helped heat my house within 3 hours.

It works great for me.. – I purchased this a few years ago, I have tried both the window shrink and the patio door shrink wrap. I find that as long as the area is clean the double sided tape will stick securely to the wrap. It also needs to be installed securely and carefully to ensure a nice tight secure fit. Pack your patience if you are a first timer with this and if you are doing it alone. Practice will make perfect, but it requires patience and firm gentleness because it is fragile so you don’t want to do the ‘yank and grab’ thing even when you may be getting impatient. I will admit my first time putting this up, it looked loose and horrible, but, it was secure on all sides and did the trick. It’s just that, because it wasn’t tight, when the wind blew and mostly at night, I would hear the wrap crinkling kind of like a potato chip bag…. (or it was just roaches trying to get out of the cold into my nice warm home through the cracks and realized they couldn’t because of the insulation wrap, so they moved on to the next unit with no protection – lol). In any event, I did a much better job this time around. Keep the scissors handy for trimming the excess and cutting off what you need across and down the sides of the dimensions of your patio door. Will buy again as long as the price is right. Works to keep bills low and insects out !

First time putting plastic on my windows… – I had my 11 year old as an assistant. I don’t recommend doing this without help, but it can be done alone if you take your time. This project took me hours to do, since I had 4 windows, but I took my time so I could be as careful and as precise as possible.

Good value – As a Wisconsin native I’ve been shrink wrapping my windows for the last 15 years (it’s practically a necessity, especially in older houses,) and I’ve gotten to try a lot of kits. The Frost King tape is weak compared to the Duck brand, but will still tear the paint from your window frames. The estimated window sizes are suitable for modern windows, but if you live in an older house with wooden window frames you will likely find yourself a few inches short–size up. That aside, this kit is a great value. The film is easy to apply, shrinks quickly and is quiet when shrunken, and is difficult to puncture but still easy to remove. It will pay for itself in your heating bill, and your floors will feel warmer.

These work just sort of thin – I just installed 2 of these. Both tore while installing and are very thin. Just be careful when unfolding and your best bet is to have a buddy help. I did them myself. work together to set it proper the first go around. one it sticks you risk tearing them when repositioning. One use only product. Some are thicker and I have got up to 10 years out of the film just had to buy more tape.

Does the trick – This window covering does what it is supposed to do. I only gave it a 4 on ease of installing, because installing it over any window/door this size is not “easy” but also was not very difficult. (Living in old houses, I’m pretty practiced at plastic covering) I used this on our big picture window. It’s not as thick as another brand I used to use; I took a chance on this one, as it was a bit cheaper. I think it will do the job just fine, but just due to personal preference and our cold temps, I’ll probably switch back to the thicker one next year.
