Great for wander upstairs – Purchased this sensor to place in our upstairs master bedroom that typically is always hotter as the afternoon sun beats into the windows. Installation was very simple. We have our Nest thermostat use the temperature reading in the upstairs room to go off of from 4p-5am, you can set custom times for the thermostat to work based off the sensor vs the sensor built into the thermostat (which ours is downstairs). It’s made a huge difference, our master bedroom is no longer an oven.

Affordable and a huge quality of life improvement to even out the temperature in the house – We had one Nest thermostat in the hallway of our ranch style home and that was it. The hallway temp setting was what it maintained, but the living areas of the house have vaulted ceilings and they were always either too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer. We got the temperature sensor and keep it in the main living area. Our Nest is now programmed to use the temperature in that room during specific daytime hours and the hallway thermostat at night. Our house is much more comfortable now. Highly recommend!

And make you sleep comfortably!! – We bought this sensor and installed in the master bedroom during winter, now this sensor controls the bedroom temperature to our desire temp while the rest of the house is like 5° cooler because the bedroom will reach the desired temp much faster from the whole house. Yes no need to heat the whole house at night while sleeping if you just need your bedroom! Also you can set schedules to switch between the sensor and the thermostat, so sensor while sleeping and thermostat the rest of the day. Much needed to save money and sleep comfortably!

Helps when there isn’t 2 thermostats – Put this temperature sensor upstairs because it gets so hot up there when the thermostat downstairs is set to 72. You can set the thermostat to use the upstairs sensor and it keeps the house at a comfortable temp.

Nice companion to a Nest Learning Thermostat – This sensor is a nice companion to the Nest Learning Thermostat. It’s nice to be able to monitor the temperature in a room that does not have the phisical thermastat. You can set the temperature to be controlled by the remote sensor rather than the actual thermostat. My only two complaints are 1) it does not have a humidity sensor like most other environmental sensors and 2) it does not have Apple home kit support.

It helps the Nest thermostat move from WTF to OK it works some – The Nest thermostat is algorithmic; this means it needs to know certain conditions such as are you home and this translates into motion detection by the thermostat and the use of your smartphone location as in being home or not. If the Nest thermostat were three sided, if the sides also picked up motion detection, a lot would be solved when it comes to the thermostat knowing you are home. A lot would be solved too if the thermostat’s away from home and being at home but hunkered down for the night data points were on the ball. Until then, get the remote sensor.

Game changer – For years now, I’ve heard that the “room is cold/hot/meh” etc. This little sensor solves it. Put it in the room that you have the most picky person who lovesss their temp justtttt right and can’t tolerate a single degree less or more..and give them the controls. Problem solved.

Great addition to my Nest setup – This sensor is great and easy to add to Nest home setup. It shows up in app as whatever you named it, but generally where you placed it. You can choose time ranges throughout the day to use sensor(s), Nest thermostat and/or manually control it. I use mine in the living room where TV, A/V receiver, people, etc. make it 2-4 degrees warmer than what Nest thermostat temp is at. So now it will adjust cooling/heating to that area without me having to manually lower temp.
