Keeps Time. No Second Sweep Hand – There is no seconds sweep hand. To fit the clock I installed it in, I had to whittle off a coule of plastic indexing bumps on the case of the mechanism and the nut that secured the hands to the shafts added more depth than the old clock had room for. it was a cheap old wall clock, so I just drilled a hole thrugh the plastic crystal so I could reassemple the clock when it was installed. Who cares? Oh well.

Easy DIY Clock Parts – Overall, very good DIY kit for wall clocks. Four different sized hour hands and four different sized minute hands make it super easy to mix and match to get just the right fit for your clock face. The movement itself it accurate (I’ve only used it a couple weeks now, but runs great so far) and very quiet, can hardly hear the ticking. The instructions are adequate, but I found that watching a couple of videos on YouTube was even better. The materials are inexpensive and probably not the highest quality, but for the price of this kit and the variety of hand sizes it provides, I am very happy with this. Would recommend for anyone making their own clock or needing replacement movement for an existing wall clock.

A nice way to save your favorite clock – This is a great kit to get your clock working again. It comes with great instructions and lots of extra parts for all lengths of hour and minute hands. You may have to improvise a little for your particular installation. I did. This kit is best suited for a clock face that is not very thick. Such as: plastic laminate, cardboard or sheet metal. My clock face is made of wood and a little too thick to install exactly as intended. Instead of using all the hardware (nuts and washers), I used Elmer’s wood glue to affix the mechanics to the backside of the clock face and still had enough of the shaft poking out the front to attach the clock hands and cap nut. All in all this is a lifesaver and a great value.

Might take some imagination to make it work – I purchased this mechanism to replace the movement in a real oak wood mantel clock. The brass shaft was not long enough to install the nut that holds it all together. I was able to remove a plastic spacer , a part of the existing clock, and finally, I could install the nut. So a word of caution is that this shaft is a standard length, and might not work on some clocks. Otherwise, the quartz movement is perfect accuracy!

Third Time’s The Charm – I have a pottery clock and wanted to change the battery mechanism. Not knowing what I was doing did not help. I ordered this item twice (the difference being the shaft length) and struck out. It wouldn’t go through my clock enough to secure it. I again ordered the longest shaft they offered – SUCCESS! This clock works is QUIET and keeps very GOOD time. I finally have my clock back up and I couldn’t be happier. Make sure you order the works with the proper length shaft. Oh, all three orders arrived in wicked fast time!
