A onetime use item – The one thing that wasn’t apparent when I purchased this item was that it is a onetime use ladder. I hopefully will not ever have to use it, but it wasn’t prominent in the description when purchasing. However, when you receive it, it is very prominent on the packaging that after one use discard or injury may be incurred. I was also surprised that there isn’t any kind of bag to put the ladder in. I just wanted an emergency escape option due to living on the third floor of an apartment building, so I am overall happy with the purchase.

Should test fit your window first. – Unfortunately, my window sill is rather large and the ladder doesn’t fit the inside wood sill, brick, then cast stone still in front. I will need to modify it to extend the white portion out about 8” or more. I rigged it up on a tree, and its possible to climb, but you’ll have to go a step at a time.

Could be life saving! ONE-TIME USE ONLY, but practice using them if you can! – We own a multi-story home in the mountains. California wildfires have been more frequent, larger, and more devastating in the past, few years due to our extreme drought conditions and high winds (among other factors). We were concerned that our children might be stuck on the top floors with no way to escape if the stairs were engulfed in flames. The only way out: through the windows two or three stories high.
