– I only used this 3 times, each time I oiled it before use, scrubbed it clean using only water, and then hand dried it thoroughly.

– I am a big fan of Lodge cast iron products, owning multiple skillets and accessories for years now. I recently picked up this griddle while on sale and have been thoroughly enjoying cooking on it. The griddle came well seasoned, has a good cast iron heft to it and is relatively easy to clean. It should fit well on any standard stove top, and the handle cutouts are useful for moving it around. The griddle heats up evenly and retains its heat well, but has one fatal flaw when cooking fatty foods. The lip on either side of the reversible griddle is just too small, cooking things like eggs or pancakes will have no issues, but foods like hamburgers will easily saturate the edges with grease. While this can be managed with just dabbing the buildup with a piece of paper towel, if you are not paying attention it has the potential to leak over, and if you have a gas stove like myself could case a flare up. If the edges were just slightly larger this would easily be a 5 star product, but with the shallow edge it can cause some major safety concerns. If you are willing to monitor the grease buildup and clean it if necessary while cooking, this reversible griddle is great.

Outstanding Cookware – Some months ago, we went on a bit of a spree and purchased a whole bunch of Lodge Logic cast iron cookware items from Amazon. Our family had been using some pretty awesome Calphalon (aluminum/nonstick) cookware for fifteen years or so. The Calphalon was (and is) still holding up quite well (nothing, and I mean *NOTHING* can destroy that cookware), but we wanted to make the move to cast iron for all the usual reasons.
