All you need is HomeKit hub (Apple TV or HomePod) and it just works! – No other apps necessary – all you need is a HomeKit hub, and Apple Home app. Seems like this is the part where everyone is confused, because other smart home systems, there’s no such concept as a hub/relay. But for those systems, you’d have to download an extra app(s) to make it work with Google or Alexa.

Easy to set up! – As long as you’re using a 2.4 ghz it’s so easy to install. Use them for a light, candle, Christmas tree, etc! Can be a little bulky depending if you have furniture behind the outlet but overall no complaints. Led on the unit as well as a button is a bonus. I have everything setup on automation, it’s pretty neat stuff if you’re trying to start on your smart home on a budget!

HomeKit setup is a nightmare – Like many others have written, getting these outlets into HomeKit is an absolute nightmare. I’m not sure if it’s because they need a firmware update out of the box or what it is, but I’m two hours in, and have only gotten three out of four plugs recognized by HomeKit so far. I have many, many HomeKit devices and they all install without a hitch. I know these will work eventually (I’ve gotten three installed), but this is so frustrating. 1 star for easy to install.

Purchased twice – used with Alexa, Google and HomeKit – will probably order again – Never had a problem with signal and the integration with both Alexa, and HomeKit, once you get it going has been nice.

Easy integration with HomeKit – I have been slowly adding HomeKit products to my house and these might be my favorite! I wanted something easy to use for my window Christmas candles and these were honestly perfect. I was able to add each plug through the HomeKit app directly (no need to use the Meross app), grouped them together and now all of my candles come on at sunset and turn off either at midnight or when I tell Siri “goodnight”. Very happy!

Devices are inconsistent – I have purchased about a dozen of these for different houses. They are generally easy to set up with HomeKIt. However, there are a number of inconsistencies that seem to point to manufacturing issues:

Switch Your Phone to WiFi 2.4 GHz – After getting ‘Unable to add accessory’ errors – and getting ready to return this item, I finally read the fine print. I then switched my phone to the slower, older 2.4 GHz network and installation went smoothly.

Frustration with Installation, but works fine after installation – I bought those outlets because it says that it is compatible with Apple Homekit. I thought it will be integrated into the Apple system as smoothly as all my Apple products, but I am wrong.
