Understanding PULL STRENGTH & PARALLEL HOLD is key when choosing a magnet. – Among other things, I’m using these on three steel doors to hold the curtain rods that hold the curtains. They are quite strong for their size (base is 1/2″ in diameter), and I’m very happy with their (parallel) holding power. I docked one star for two hooks that don’t fit in their base, demoting them to refrigerator magnets. (The 22 lb magnetic hooks I bought are no longer listed in the ad. They are now selling 25 lb hooks instead. Just something to keep in mind when reading calculations based on the 22 lb hooks I bought & reviewed.)

Strong – So I didn’t read the size when I ordered these. They came in this tiny package, and thought “what the heck are these going to hold?”. What had sold me was a review on how much they hold. Especially if they are attached to the ceiling and you get the full weight out of them. Instead of attached to the wall, where the weight is then being pulled from a different angle and don’t hold as much. We used them on our cruise and they worked great! Held everything we needed to dry, get out of the way, or things we needed to keep up with. Now they are being used in the garage holding tools, tape, and whatever else.
