Great device, but watch for (fixable) underpowered supply from furnace – I replaced Honeywell wireless thermostat with this device. Having installed thermostats previously I had no trouble with wiring or basic setup. The instructions do not explain how the trim plate is installed, but that was easy to figure out with a video I found online.

Most features on the market! – Let me just start out by saying this thing is awesome. Features. Sleek look. Remote sensor and largely the apps setup walk through. You just can’t ask for more. It’s super user friendly. Mine works great, had it a few weeks. Right away I was sad to find out you must have an apple home device to utilize Siri, so we use Alexa in the living room. But google home elsewhere for the smart lights here. It’s integrated speaker is nothing to brag about, but once again there’s nothing in the market with features that compare. I have one issue with this unit, and it’s when I touch it, primarily the metal ring it seriously shocks the heck out of me. One night my lady seen the transfer in the dark and asked me to remove it. Typically when it does this, the unit will go black for a few seconds, reset itself and take a few minutes to completely initiate again. Super bummer but I’ll finish out the month with it and decide. I know the units fasteners isn’t grounded into the wall with the screws, and I tried contacting ecobee chats right away. They quickly got back to me and insisted I take a picture of my wiring and that there must be an issue in that dept, further verified everything is as it should be, my problem still hasn’t been resolved.

An updated ecobee with great functionality – We’ve had a few smart thermostats, and our favorite was an older ecobee, and this one is definitely an improvement, albeit it’s also quite expensive. Whether or not you really want this model depends on what you plan to do with it.
