Doesn’t last long and it charges when plugged in and turned on in a lamp – I bought to use on my front entry table that has no electrical outlet. I didn’t read the comments well enough. You have to plug in the lamp and charge it while on. I have to move the lamp to a plug and turn that light on then it charges. I was hoping just to plug it in to charge like your iphone. Once fully charged it is wonderfully bright for about a half hour. Then it dies to a dim glow. Not what I was hoping for.

Amazing product! – These bulbs are wonderful!! We have at least one in a socket in every room. When the electricity goes off, just flip the light switch or turn on the lamp and you’ll have light for a while. They also come with a hanger so you can carry it around if needed and hang it wherever you are. The hanger has a switch on it so you can turn it off and on. The bulb is very bright and will easily light up a room. I had previously purchased one set at a yard sale. I liked those so well I ordered two more sets. Everyone needs a few of these in their homes especially if they experience power outages very often.

Let there be light. – Yes you need to plug it into a light socket to recharge it. No it doesn’t come with it. Yes you can buy a set of 4 on Amazon for 8 bucks. And just screw it into it, plug it into the wall and it Charges. And yes the light is on the entire time it’s charging. 3 of my lights are really bright one of them isent as bright, and I feel like maybe they could last a little longer. If you get 4 of them and use them wisely along with other flashlights and stuff in an emergency or even camping it should work fine.

good backup light bulb and good for tricks – I got these specifically as trick bulbs, but touching the metal parts with bare skin doesn’t always work, and not reliable for making the bulb light up when you want it to. But, you can Uncle Fester the bulb easily by sticking the screw in part into your mouth, gently clench teeth on screw part making sure not to let your tongue touch anything, and then when you want to make it light, touch the tip of bulb base with tip of tongue. Like grab hold of a wire and pretend to be electrocuted as the bulb lights up. Or pull your ear like your ear is a light switch. You can wrap your hand around the bulb, first finger and thumb tightly wrapped to make one connection, with rest of hand towards the light end, and touch the base tip firmly to your forehead to turn on, and then either touch something while pressing the bulb to forehead like conducting electricity, or pulling your ear like a light switch, and pressing bulb in to make it light, and pulling back slightly to turn off. And make sure you let people know to always turn off lights when not using them, and then do your bit about turning off the bulb before putting it away.

We’ve had a couple of outages and it is very convenient to have these come on automatically when it does. They stay on quite a long time, too. Bright and they work well – After a 9 day power outage from Ian, we bought these “just in case”. We fully charged them and they work great as a makeshift lantern. Now we have 2 of them in lamps and we’ll see if they go on automatically during an outage.
