Makes life better – I am very happy with this product. It wasn’t hard to set it up with Alexa. My husband often falls asleep before I get home so there are no lights on. I just tell Alexa to turn on the lights and “poof” they come on. They come on the last setting they were on. There are so many colors to choose from. They do have a limit on how bright they go based on the maximum wattage of the bulb (just like a normal plain bulb). They do have a few neat settings. Halloween settings make them blink like if you were in a haunted house. Christmas has them blink like Christmas colors. You can even have alexa turn them on at a certain time everyday.

Pairs so easily – Ok after struggling to pair other manufacturers bulbs on my hybrid 5.0ghz/2.4ghz this was SUPER easy. It didn’t care that my phone was on 5ghz. It found the devices and added them no problem. My only critique is that the mobile app makes you add each device separately. I would like to be able to select several devices and add them all at once to save time.

I actually purchased another brand (Sylvania) and that was a disaster. I had received a free Sengled bulb with an echo dot and it was easy to install (Bluetooth). I thought these were Bluetooth and when I saw they were Wifi, I was nervous they wouldn’t connect. But all 4 are working fine! Not as hard to install as I thought. Still playing around with colors and brightness so I’m still on the fence on that. I liked these so much, I bought more for other rooms. Will update if they stop working.

Great easy start to automating a home – These lights are very very cool. I installed them into different lamps, downloaded the Sengled app for my android phone, and I was off and running. I have been creating scenes of different lighting schemes using both white and colored lights for illumination and atmosphere. Everything I’ve created in the app has supposedly translated over to Hey Google, but the google assistant fails to operate the lights on spoken command. The Google Home app is also very buggy to the point I don’t even use it, relying instead on the Sengled app. So it’s not quite true that these lights operate without a hub. I think it takes owning an Alexa to make these lights respond to spoken command because google is an epic fail.
