Good practice/learning kit with minor hiccup for temperature control – My only issue is that the temperature control knob is quite small and hard to read or set with precision. However, it was easy to set, quick to heat up, and I could solder a few practice items within minutes. I don’t solder often, so this is a learning kit for me, and it appears to work fine.

But I am happy to have retractable sheaths, a welding braid and welding (very thin… maybe not the best for big wires, but perfect for what I needed…

Make sure you know what you’re working with – I bought this to replace the charger port on my ASUS K570UD laptop, which was damaged due to severely overheating as a result of a faulty charger (It could still charge, but was heating up a lot even with brand-new charger cables). The pictures included with this review show my efforts at doing so.
