It works is all I’ll say – I’ve given up, I just can’t continue to buy and return these red and blue lamps. So I’m keeping this red one. After I have had it on for 2-3 hours it will finally start to activate the red lava. It just sorta stays in large clumps and only floats up about 1/3 to 1/2 way up the bottle. But it is nice to watch, I just wish it worked as well as mt orange lamp and my glitter lamp. I am not buying any more of these lamps. I know it’s not the seller’s fault, they did not Mfg. the item!! No more Lava Lamps in Rack Tavern, NY.

Somewhat loosely assembled – By which I mean it’s a little loose when assembled. The cap just sits on the glass tank, and the tank sits on the base, and so it slightly leans. It needs some sort of silicone gaskets for everything to sit nicely and securely. Otherwise it works great, it’s more fluid than lava lamps from the ’70s were. I wish the base/cap came in brass, and then it would look like my old ’70s lamp.

Meh. – Look, I got the green and the color is awesome. Very alien. But there is nowhere near enough wax, so even once it melts, a tiny blob sits at the top, a bigger blob sits at the bottom, and it hardly moves. The joy of a lava lamp is the movement, but with this, there is none. Pass on this one.

Ok but I wouldn’t gift it – I think when my lamp arrived it must have been stored on it’s side for a long time because all of the wax was pooled to the side of the globe. After 5+ months it still hasn’t totally cleared up and the inside of the lamp is streaked and spotted. Since I use it in my bedroom it’s not a big deal but if I had it in an area where more people would see it, or if I had bought it as a gift, I would be disappointed. I like the yellow/orange color though and haven’t experienced any of the other problems mentioned by others even after using it almost every day.

Hot to touch – Very cool lava lamp. Smaller then I thought.. overall nice lamp for my 6 year old. BUT it is very hot. Yeah duh it’s a LAVA lamp what did I expect but not like it’s real lava lol. It’s actually made me really uncomfortable leaving it on in his room all night… I hate to have to remind myself to shut it off incase I forget when I go to bed. Like it’s so hot I can’t even pick it up for a second to move it to the other side of his dresser. I think I will return it because it just makes me nervous how hot it gets. I’d hate for something to happen in my sons room while we all sleep. Ugh.
