Works great on my Breville machine – This works really great. I have completed descaling successfully, but on second try, since there was really no good instructions. Rather than just descaling the machine, I like to do a full clean, which involves descaling, replacing water filter and then running the cleaning cycle. Here is how I done it:

Very cost effective vs. the manufacturers descalers – I’ve used this for years on super automatic coffee machines from Delonghi, Jura, and Saeco. No issues ever. Just verify that your machine does NOT have an aluminium boiler as it is incompatible with that metal.

Great for hard water – I have hard water and it is torture on coffee makers. I have been replacing my coffee maker almost every six months to a year because it takes 20 minutes to brew a pot of coffee. I decided to give this a try and it works great! I weight out the amount and follow the instructions, I use it every three months or whenever I notice the brew time taking longer.

Not as easy as Vinegar mix! – This descaler was recommended by my coffeemaker’s manufacturer. Not as easy as vinegar mix was with the old pot, but if premixed correctly, it does a good job and clears the heating coil well. Be sure to run a couple of plain water pots after use to insure it doesn’t affect the flavor!

Not necessarily better than vinegar – I have used vinegar to clean my coffee machine for years. I know some people don’t like it, but I’ve never had any problem. After flushing with water, there is no vinegar smell left over and my machine is clean. I bought this out of curiosity to see how it compared. To test it, I first cleaned my machine with vinegar, and then I ran this through the machine to see if it would remove anything more than the vinegar. It didn’t really. So then I used this later alone to see how much it removed, and it did clean it very well, but I found it to be similar to the vinegar for performance. I do typically run vinegar through my machine 2 to 3 times to get everything out, so the jury is still out on whether this is quicker or not. I did not find in my test that it was. So overall, I think it’s a perfectly fine cleaner, and that it works quite well, I’m just not convinced it’s anything better than vinegar.

Works well for coffee maker and other items – This has worked well in a Breville Barista Pro. I have also used it to descale other items, like a showerhead. I left it to soak in a pitcher and It cleared some clogged jets.

Good, however – The instructions on the bottle are way too simple. I ended up watching a couple videos and wasting 20minutes.
