I’m afraid what would see in a hotel as I haven’t been brave enough to try there. I imagine it could cut a vacation short… use at own risk there. Definitely worth buying though

Great tool for fighting stains – With an elderly dog and litter finicky cat my carpets were a mess. They are a darker color so I couldn’t find where the smell was coming from. This was a huge help finding the exact areas so I could clean and treat the area and reduce bad smell.

Clearly shows what you don’t want to see! – Like others have stated, only use this light if you’re brave enough to see what it reveals! Over a year ago I got two kittens who were not fully litter box trained. During their acclimation period and early weeks I had them restricted to a smaller portion of the house until they were “potty” trained. My intention was to get the carpeted area professionally cleaned after the girls were older. I got this light to see just how bad it was. Yowza! This light may work best in a darkened room but it works well even with some ambient lighting. It tells the whole story even if you’re not sure you want to know.

Not very Bright – This is a nice product for the price but it is not very bright. You need to wait until nighttime when it is fully dark to see any stains with it. You can get a general idea of where the worst stains are and then try to clean them up the next day, but you’ll have to wait until dark again to check if you got them all.
