Lesser expensive alternative – Not as good as the original, but does most ( not all) of the job the original filter does. Does NOT last nearly as long though. So economically I cannot state the price is worth it or not. The original filter that this is made to duplicate, filters more particulates and chemicals than this does and for discerning water drinkers, you will definitely notice the difference. But, it does a decent job in its own right and if you are not that critical, worth a try. Exact fitment, and filters faster than original since it is not as densely packed as the original brand. You will change them out quicker though. So how that prices out is dependent upon your palate.

Make sure to rinse these before use. – The amount of black stuff that comes out when new is amazing. I thinks its charcoal powder, but it doesn’t taste real good. there was an old Mother’s song called “Let’s Make the Water Turn Black” It may have been about these when they are brand new.
