Great video doorbell with a few minor hang ups – The instructions for installation were simple for the arlo video doorbell; got the doorbell working in no time. It connected seamlessly with the app and was getting alerts on my phone; it did take some getting used to for setting notifications so that I don’t get overwhelmed with the number of notifications; also the wedge attached was not angled enough for my situation so will probably need to get an after-market part for a greater angle; also the integration with the call function has not been easy to set up; still having trouble with it and have been too busy to set it up properly.

Good choice – All features on the arlo video doorbell are great. Audio sounds good, motion detection on point. The only reason I gave this a 4 star instead of 5, is the video looks pixelated at first, when it starts to record movement. It takes a few seconds for the picture to clear itself. Which in my opinion is a big deal, especially if you are trying to identify a person’s face quickly.

Be careful screwing baseplate to doorframe – The Arlo video doorbell works very well. Image quality is good. User interface is easy. Install went well at first with clear instructions until I needed to switch to the angled baseplate at which point the standard baseplate cracked and became unusable. I had to use epoxy to repair the baseplate and fill the huge holes in the angled baseplate in order to securely install the doorbell. I probably should have just returned it and I suspect most anyone else would have. The design of the angled baseplate is very poor and led to my disastrous install. The two large holes in the angled baseplate should be filled in to reinforce the plate and this would have prevented the issue I experienced.
