Test video – Schylling 2313 Lava The Original Black Base :
Product highlights :
Glass, Metal
Neon blue wax in clear liquid
Provides relaxing, soft light. Black aluminum base and cap
Product is cloudly then Please turn your lamp on and allow it to heat up until the base is warm or hot to the touch, the wax has softened and is flowing as it should. Once the lamp reaches this point then please turn the lamp off and allow it to cool completely, to where it doesn’t feel as if it’s been on, and then turn the lamp on again. You will want to do this several more times. It can take a bit longer with the larger lamps. However, by running the lamp in short bursts when you heat the wax up and then allow it to cool, it’s that cooling action that acts like Velcro pulling the tiny particles of wax together. The cloudiness is caused by small wax particles that have broken off. This often happens during shipping
25-Watt light bulb included
Plugs into a standard 120-Volt wall power outlet

pretty color lava lights – I love lava lamps!! This one is a bit smaller which I like because it’s easier to transport. Also not as much clutter as I decorate. I want one in a different color to really dec out my living room!!

TOTAL LAVA LAMP FAIL even after getting replacement that seemed to work – ACTUAL FINAL UPDATE: Unbelievable! I thought the replacement lamp was perfect. It worked perfectly for about six months. Then the wax started STICKING TO THE GLOBE on the inside. For no rhyme or reason. How does it do that, unless the whole thing is just one piece of junk?? There must be something in the neon wax that just makes it all garbage. Even if you get a good lamp… BEWARE it will likely not last! I guess this will be good to use for an experiment on how to replace lava lamp wax and liquid. Not what I was looking for, but thanks. What a shame.

The lava EVENTUALLY clears up – As a kid, I was gifted a red lava lamp with clear fluid. Driven by curiosity, I shook the warmed lamp and got a nearly homogeneous solution. To anyone familiar with lava lamps, this is practically sacrilege. After multiple heating and cooling cycles, as well as running the lamp continuously for probably a week, it returned to normal.

Ready to gamble? – I bought this because of the uncommon color of the lava in this lamp. And for the price, it was a great deal. It is also the first time I bought a lava lamp online. The gamble is the shipping. I bought two lamps. The other was a metallic lava. Both arrived in pre-opened boxes. I thought they were new. The metallic one had fairly clear liquid. After a run, it cleared up completely. This blue one was so cloudy I couldn’t even see the lava. I contacted Amazon service and the quickly sent a replacement. The replacement arrived in a couple of days in a brand new box. The lamp still suffered from cloudy liquid, but this time I could see the lava. With each running of the lamp, the cloudiness seems to be clearing up. The color now shows through and I am confident that the liquid will be completely clear eventually. What’s so important about the liquid clarity beside being able to see the lava? The cloudy liquid is probably microscopic globs of lava mixed in with the water. It’s a light emulsion like mayonnaise. It will slow the movement of the larger lava depending on how thick it is. Heating and cooling the lamp should cause the microscopic lava to rejoin the main lava mass.
